There are certain topics you're not supposed to talk about among friends: politics, religion, STDs. But, there's an elephant in the room, and to not give it a big WTF?! would be incredibly lame. So, today's post is dedicated to Sarah Palin.
I watched her speech on Friday. I read its transcript on Saturday. I had a Scotch and read it again on Monday. Then, I drank a few beers and read it again on Tuesday. It still made no fucking sense. Or, was it the Sudafed-Scotch-Beer chaser killing off brain cells?
Nope. Caribou Barbie needs a new jacket. The white kind with lots and lots of shiny buckles.
My friend, Jason, sent me a link to Maureen Dowd's Op-Ed piece on Sarah's meltdown. Love her, hate her, you have to admit, Maureen can write. Girlfriend's fierce. Girlfriend's unforgiving. Girlfriend uses the pen like a sword. I would have loved to have been her friend in high school. I bet she could have given the Mean Girls (and boys) a smack-down like no one else.

P.P.S. Jen, I know you're still mourning Tim Russert. But, might I interest you in Paul Begala? Of course, he's not objective like Tim. But, for some reason, I thought you might find him, um, cute in an intellectually-uber-weird way.

no, he's not tim but begala definitely has potential. it's the combination of being incredibly intellectual and funny at the same time. matt lauer has the same effect on me.
this is why i married jim. he's borderline nerd-smart but a dork at the same time.
