I'm looking at the Mama in the mirror...and wondering WTF?

I must be coming down with something. What else could explain my behavior today? Why the worry? Read on, my friends.
  • I walked the kids to the bus stop today and got there early.
  • I showered before 10am.
  • I wore make-up.
  • I dressed respectably. I actually looked like a honest-to-goodness PTA mom rather than a yoga-pant-wearing poser.
  • I walked into Target and walked out -- empty-handed. (I know, GASP!)
  • I skipped the gym. I went to Taco Bell.
  • I worked all day on the computer without visiting www.athleta.com and buying one more skort.
  • I wore an apron to cook dinner.
  • I baked and frosted 72 cupcakes. Yes. 72 f-u-c-k-i-n-g cupcakes. If Madan ever accuses me of not loving him, I will frost his head and turn him into #73.
  • Did I mention that I wore an apron? Yes, an apron -- with my PTA-mom clothing underneath.
My identity crisis didn't hit until shortly after the last cupcake. I'll refer to him as "72" for short. After icing "72," I paused. I reflected. I got dizzy. (The sickeningly sweet smell of cake batter had taken the house hostage.) Then, I got angry. I looked to the ceiling. I held up my chocolate iced hands (which were coated with darling little sprinkles) and screamed, "WHO AM I?!?!?! WHAT HAVE I BECOME?!??!! THE WOMAN I KNEW WOULD HAVE DONE STORE-BOUGHT TREATS! THE WOMAN I KNEW COULDN'T BAKE A CUPCAKE EVEN IF HER LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GIRL WHO BROUGHT A BAG OF OREOS TO THE SCHOOL PICNIC INSTEAD OF A HOMEMADE DESSERT? WHY THE HELL AM I YELLING AT THE CEILING?"

I'm looking at the Mama in the mirror and wondering if she needs to change her ways? I don't know who this new chick is, but she's wigging me out.

What, no photo to accompany this post? I'd pay good money to see you (1) showered (2) with makeup on and (3) wearing an apron!

Ha! Never!!! By the way. I realized that I just needed to hit the reboot button. I'm back to "normal" now.
