LeBron James. I've lost all respect for you. I thought you were cool. I thought you were different from all those other attention-seeking guys.
I was wrong.
Yes, you are an incredible basketball player. You're fun to watch on the court. But you're a narcissist and a big baby, too. You're ego is insatiable and because of it, you've become incredibly annoying. You're no king. You're a gnat of an emperor -- a tall Napoleon, seeking more power, fame and glory despite having so much to be thankful for already.
Your official website says, "Due to the unprecedented attention and interest surrounding LeBron's decision, we have decided to make this announcement on national television. By doing so we have generated funds that will be given to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. LeBron has a longstanding commitment to giving back to the community, and has worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs in cities across the country."
I applaud the donation, but take issue with the hype surrounding it. What exactly are you teaching the Boys and Girls of America, LeBron? Certainly nothing about humility, content of character or maturity. You're teaching them how to handle touchy situations with less tact then an meddling mother-in-law. You're also teaching them that Twitter is a wonderful tool for leveling people with an inflated sense of self worth. For that, I applaud you. Standing O, in fact.
I never loved the power of social media more than I do today. Some great tweets:
Question: How do you keep an idiot in suspense? Ansewr: I'll tell ya later...#lebrondecision
I'm gonna watch #lebrondecision tonight just in case Kanye interrupts to remind us that Jordan was the best basketball player ever.
If ESPN runs out of LeBron James stuff to fill the hour, they can just show Kobe Bryant championship highlights
LeBron James should go to the Washington Generals. So maybe, they can finally beat the Harlem Globetrotters.
Breaking news!! IPhone is coming out with a new lebron James iPhone...it only vibrates because it has no rings
Lebron James is going to Duke he wants to go to college now
LeBron James Watch: Not a good sign. President Obama just dispatched FEMA to Cleveland
So, "The Decision" airs tonight. I've decided not to watch it. I can only hope that when the clock strikes 10pm, the NBA's fairy godmother will swoop down and bitch slap LeBron back to reality again.

100% agreed. I hope CLE shows more class than he did.
How interesting to be following this from the other side of the world ... loved this post ... and the Dan Gilbert letter as well!
Cleveland isn't home for us, but we were glad to have lived there ... was there even a statement by LeBron about what Cleveland meant to him all of these years?
