You see a lot of interesting things when you drive for seven hours. From the mundane -- truckers eating sandwiches, to the weird -- women plucking their eyebrows while driving 65+ mph. You also see a lot of opinions slapped on the backsides of cars. It's all good, though. It gave me something to read while the kids were drooling, watching "Cars."
What I don't get is this...
How can you support the troops, breast cancer awareness, autism research, Mother Earth, Prez Obama and then drive like a total asshole? I noticed this one dude speeding, cutting people off and veering like a maniac. Did he understand that breast cancer survivors drive cars? Soldiers returning home were passengers? Autistic children get buckled into minivans? His bumper stickers and magnetic ribbons indicated his unwavering support for everyone, but his driving indicated he was up for killing anyone.
"Asswipe," I muttered.
"What did you say, Mom?" The kids never listen to me unless I say something I don't want them to hear. "Nothing, doobies."
So, I don't mind the bumper stickers and magnets. But, to all those compassionate alpha male/female drivers out there: Just make sure your driving doesn't kill anyone you're trying to save.
